Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that education extends beyond the walls of the classroom. I firmly believe that education should not only focus on academic knowledge but equip students with practical skills necessary for success in an ever-changing real world.
Specifically, I am committed to providing an environment that encourages learning by doing. Through hands-on exposure to leading tools like IBM's SPSS and Qualtrics, I aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice so that students feel empowered to navigate the evolving technological landscape with confidence. Furthermore, I place significant emphasis on developing strong writing and presenting skills to strengthen students' ability to communicate ideas effectively and persuasively.
Moreover, I believe in fostering a learning environment built on collaboration and mutual respect for diverse perspectives. Each student is a unique individual with distinct, valuable views and talents. By instilling in students a deep appreciation for diversity and teamwork, they learn not only to respect different viewpoints but to harmonize them into creative solutions. Based on my professional and academic experience, this is a skill that is indispensable in the modern workplace.
Ultimately, my goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning and prepare students to excel in their chosen career paths by cultivating a positive, diligent, and resourceful mindset.

Fall 2023 Marketing Research and Insights:
"I loved Professor Yoo! He gave extremely detailed feedback and graded assignments in a timely manner. He always made sure students understood the material and made himself available outside of class time to assist students in any way. I also enjoyed his fun ways to make the class engaged (daily questions/breaks in lectures, group names, etc.). He truly cares about his students, and I am so glad I was able to take this class with him!"
"I like the way Professor Yoo structured his classes. He kept his lectures very short and simple, but he still took time to answer our questions and explain concepts well. I like the way he did a review of the previous class at the beginning of each class, and he summarized what we learned for the day too. The repetition of ideas and key points was really helpful for me to learn the material and succeed on the projects and exams. He was very accessible to answer any questions I had and was very approachable in class. He made the lectures engaging and fun as well."
Spring 2023 Marketing Research and Insights:
"Professor Yoo was great! I think he is a new professor, but he jumped in and seemed like he was very experienced! He is so knowledgeable about the subjects being taught you can ask him almost anything, and he will know the answer. He is also very good about helping students. If you have a question or just don't know something, he really takes the time to explain it until you get it. His class is very lecture heavy, but I honestly prefer that, he does add in fun breather questions in the middle to sort of break up the lecture. Overall he is a very knowledgeable professor, and I will walk away from this course with a better understanding of marketing research."
"The organization of this class was some of the best I have had in college. I knew exactly what every class was going to look like and always left feeling confident about everything I learned. The exams were also a direct reflection of the notes, and I never felt like there were questions that covered topics we never talked about. I really enjoyed the structure of this class and would recommend him to anyone that has to take it in the future."
